Each January we hold our beginner's classes presented online and later in Spring we meet at our Apiary near Ballincollig to teach the practical aspects of the craft.

Members have access to our community of beekeepers, are represented by the IBA at a national level and supported by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine

The Asian Hornet

The Asian hornet (Vespa velutina) was first reported in Ireland in 2021, with a single specimen found in Dublin. However, more alarming was the discovery of established nests in Cork in August 2025. If you see a hornet, please use the below link to report.
